Am I living in my body? Are you living in your body? Is it really my body or your body? Or is it nobody’s body? What defines our bodies anyway? In these times isn’t it true that what defines our body is our mental, emotional attachments to who we think we are, from the viewpoint of past and future. And isn’t it clear that the personal self has arisen from that viewpoint? From this personal space, living in the body can be a mental, emotional, physical disaster where we (individual consciousness) live in our bodies in a subconscious dream-like state. In a very shallow life, where our consciousness is in a turmoil of thoughts, fear or depression manifesting our lives as separate from all things, separate even from the earth. We become a viewer that views life from a position of ‘me’, instead of deeply experiencing the intimate touch of actually being the view and the vastness from which the view arises. You know this vastness if you have ever sat in nature and became so lost in its beauty that your individual self disappeared and what replaced it was immense love and gratitude for being, for life. This is what happens when the personal ‘me’ disappears. What always is here is experienced directly, because all the personal thoughts and emotions ceased and nobody remained.
Let me put this in the perspective of the evolution of the individual and humanity. As we as individuals truly begin to understand that we are not our thoughts or our emotions, our conscious awareness deepens beyond the distraction of mind and emotion, and we experience directly that place of wonder and beauty, the vastness of pure being that we came out of prior to so-called birth. That place of great beauty has never disappeared, humanity has covered it over with belief systems of mind and emotion of who we think we are. In that covering our awareness never connects with that place prior to our embodiment. Yet this is the whole purpose of being in the body; to connect the vastness from which we come consciously with our expression as human beings. In this way our bodies open up to reveal a finer body for humanity. In the first instance it is to realize that I am in truth the Earth, in all of its splendour and wonder; for the Earth is also a body. The deepening of realizations of my ‘bodies’ is infinite; as I may realize that I am the universal being, and even the cosmic being. Wonder of wonders, all this mystery locked in my simple human body experience - available to me to be expressed in the totality of my life, in innocence, wonder, love and beauty, and to give it true form. The sole purpose of being human, the expression of the whole coming through my earthly body; finer and finer openings of living truth and love manifest.
Every moment of our life experience is a calling from the deep to transform our personal lives into full and present loving. Every situation, every event, every meeting is solely designed for this purpose of transforming human consciousness into pure being, truly being human. In this way the individual and the collective consciousness of humanity bring to life new forms of expressing the mystery, therefore opening up our eternal being within the senses, making sense of non-sense.
Bernie Prior speaks from Realised consciousness on the truth of life, love and the real nature of man and woman. Sharing intimately from his own life experience and with humour and integrity, Bernie clearly demonstrates that consciousness is our true nature and the realization of that brings us into deep unfolding within existence. Revealing the true nature of the individual and how that opens up within every aspect of existence – partnership, family, work and play – the potential for a real spiritual awakening within the individual is uncovered. The invitation to live from the deepest reality, yet in a very natural way, is the offering. Embracing the totality of life brings the gift of knowing who it is that truly lives on this Earth. We no longer get caught up with the old forms of our expression that we identified with as they dissolve and disappear back into the vastness, as our love instantly gives life to new forms and ‘we’ realize out true nature of nobodyness’ that shines so brightly as every body.
