A column exploring energy healing
The energy of unconditional loving is always giving. The energy of giving however, is not necessarily loving.
Everything is energy. All that we think and feel is energy, all that is seen as physical is materialized energy. Our own thoughts and feelings infuse everything we do with the energy and vibration of those very same thoughts and feelings. Every nuance of our inner world is reflected back to us in the outer world. If we wish to experience open-hearted generosity in the outer world, then we need to cultivate and become the energy of generosity within first.
So let us take a few moments together and investigate the consciousness we hold in the act of our giving.
We gift more often because it is a “season of giving” or a “reason for giving” and less often for the simple “love of giving”. Today’s general trend of buying bigger and better as an expression of our love is resulting in yet another unhealthy program for our children to overcome. Conditional and unconscious offering of material goods is taken as the definition of generosity in the so called developed world.
Reflect on this for a moment: the buying of presents does not signify PRESENCE in the act of giving.
Whether we are giving or receiving, are we aware of the energy behind the gift? Are we comfortable with the energy? If we are not present to it, how can we possibly feel it. Sometimes the gift holds the energy of strings attached, expectations of reciprocity, a conditional present. How does this make us feel? Then there are times when there is no other feeling apart from the energy of the item itself. In this case, the gift was given only on the material level. Empty giving.
The art to loving giving is so very simple, so pleasurable and is a true gift to both giver and receiver.
Here is another way to give. Bring the receiver of your gift into your heart and hold this precious soul for a few moments in the space of love. Ask what would be the most ideal physical/material expression of your appreciation of this person. Now create the item, or purchase it, whilst holding the receiver in your consciousness. Before you give the gift, hold it before you, at the heart level or, if that’s not possible, imagine yourself holding the gift at your heart level and begin to breathe love, from the highest level of consciousness, through your heart and into the gift. Do this for as long as you wish, but even just a minute or so will make a great difference.
The gift will now be infused with, and will radiate, the most powerful vibration there is: love.
There is one more step to this art of loving giving. The moment of giving is another opportunity to share in this offering of love and deserves to be done with Divine consciousness. Your loved one now stands before you ready to receive. Take a moment to look into their eyes, allow love to shine through your own eyes and then offer the gift as the material representation of the love and gratitude you feel in the sharing of this precious moment. Let go completely.
If you tune into your heart now, you will realize that you have just received in complete fullness to the same measure that you have given.
